Step 1: Creative Brief
We begin every branding process with a creative brief—a document you complete to give us an in-depth look at your brand goals, your competition, your customers’ preferences and more. It sets the stage for your upcoming kickoff call. Taking the time to thoroughly answer each question is crucial—it gives us the clarity and insight we need to make that first conversation productive, strategic and aligned with your vision.
Step 2: Kickoff Call
The kickoff call is where we dive into your creative brief and ensure we’re aligned on goals, audiences and the overall vision for your new brand. It’s essential that all key decision-makers are present and aligned beforehand so we can establish a clear, unified direction. While we’ll offer expert guidance on the best path forward, having everyone on the same page ensures a smoother process—and stronger results.
Your customer success manager (CSM) and lead illustrator will be on the call to guide the conversation and start building your brand’s visual direction. Although our logo development is a collaborative effort among several talented illustrators, your lead illustrator will serve as your primary creative partner and visual point of contact.
Step 3: Brainstorming, Pencil Sketches and Initial Conceptualizing
Next comes the fun part: researching and conceptualizing the logo and obsessing over its implementation. This involves a ton of thought, collaboration and creative spark. Your business becomes the center of our universe while we think through the logistics and forecast the brand across every medium including your vehicles, stationery, website, brochure, uniforms, etc.
Step 4: Concept Presentation
At this stage, we’re ready and excited to share our concepts with you! Your CSM and lead illustrator—the same team from your kickoff call—will walk you through each design, explaining the strategy and thinking behind every detail. We’ll talk through your first impressions, answer any questions and guide you through what comes next.
Step 5: Revisions & Concept Approval
Thanks to our collective experience with developing logos, we’re usually right on the money after the first round (or pretty darn close). But if we’re not, we’re happy to make changes within the budgeted project time. If we’re even remotely close to going over your budgeted hours, you’ll know well in advance so there are no surprises.
Step 6: Rendering & Finalization
Once you’ve selected your winning concept, we move into the rendering phase—where your new logo gets the full VIP treatment. This is when we refine every detail, polish the lines, enhance the colors and add the finishing touches that bring the design to life. Unlike the exploratory stage, rendering is all about precision and presentation, ensuring your final logo is as impactful as possible. Once approved, you’ll receive your logo files in all the formats you need, plus a custom guidebook to launch with clarity and confidence.
And that’s a wrap on logo development!
