Alyssa’s career path was paved in fifth grade, when she and a few classmates had a press pass and video camera to cover President Bush’s visit to a local high school, right alongside the Philadelphia television news crews. Running the elementary school TV station evolved to publishing a monthly neighborhood newspaper, studying broadcast journalism in college, and eventually, working as a beat reporter who covered her hometown for the local paper. Put simply, Alyssa is passionate about keeping people informed.
When the local newspaper needed a digital presence with real-time breaking news, Alyssa led the launch of lehighvalleylive.com and its team, and developed a new process to deliver information to the community and generate conversation amongst readers.
From there, she honed her web skills during a three-year stint managing online content for Lehigh Valley Health Network. With such a well-rounded background across various industries, Alyssa has established herself as a skillful project manager who can take ownership of multiple projects—without missing a beat.
At KickCharge® Creative, she helps to ensure that clients’ websites are valuable resources for existing and future customers. Overseeing the content team and digital marketing efforts, she is responsible for maximizing the sites’ visibility, conversions and user experience—so that they translate into business success.
Alyssa graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University, where she was dually enrolled in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Whitman School of Management, earning a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and finance.
She doesn’t sit still for long. Alyssa and her husband have a son and daughter who keep them busy with their activities, including bedtime reading and coaching her daughter’s soccer team. She also is former president of her church council and is still an active volunteer. She spends too much of her “free time” cleaning and not enough time sleeping.
Alyssa makes daily exercise a priority, whether she’s running, walking, shimmying to Zumba or using dumbbells and a yoga mat in her living room. Dancing is her absolute favorite thing to do; she loves spending an hour a week in an adult tap class. Another way to make her happy is to give her coffee.
The projects of which she’s most proud were new initiatives for which she strategized, brought a team onboard, created and implemented a new process and fine-tuned the formula—then celebrated success. Alyssa enjoys tackling a problem or new idea that she believes will bring value.
