Lori is a fervent writer and copy editor who adores language and wordsmithing. The twist of a phrase, the way words evoke emotion, how the subtlest wording change can make all the difference—these are her passions.
Her work can be found anywhere from arts nonprofits in the Midwest and Southwest to the thriving and intense Detroit automotive scene. She joins the KickCharge® Creative team from Michigan but feels right at home with the Jersey vibe, having grown up in New York’s Mid-Hudson Valley.
Lori is an accomplished flutist with degrees from Ithaca College and the University of Michigan, and doctoral studies at Michigan State University. She fell into this crazy world of writing and copy editing honestly: She remembers spotting a typo in the Middletown Record when she was only 6 years old. Her “double life” has been circuitous and extremely rewarding, and she starts every day in awe that she gets to do what she loves, times two.
Lori has an “emergency tiara” on her desk at all times. Sometimes, you just need a tiara.
If it’s September through May, she is probably practicing her flute for the 10 or so classical concerts she plays a year. A huge fan of the water, Lori relishes the chance to explore the coasts of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron during the summer months. Other passions include cooking, reading and all things sports, especially college football. To say she bleeds the Maize and Blue of the University of Michigan would not be an understatement (Go Blue!). Lori has three beautiful and talented goddaughters who are the lights of her life. Whether it’s driving them to orchestra rehearsal or sneaking in a Starbucks run or picking them up from school, she spends as much time with them as she can.
