Shannon develops the words that live within your website, print ads, brochures, and social media. Each carefully selected phrase and sentence works to communicate your business fundamentals: who you are, what you do, and why customers trust you to get the job done. If we were being honest, we’d tell you Shannon is “a bit OCD”—especially when it comes to commas. Punctuation aside, her mad wordsmith skills are a force to be reckoned with as she speaks, loud and clear, for your business.
Too often, marketing content is an afterthought: a smattering of words thrown together, lacking tenacity, and filled with copy errors. To get results, writing should cut straight to the heart of your business: resonating with audiences, complementing high-impact design, and dialoguing with readers. Shannon is passionate about words, and knows how to use them. So, whether you’re a service technician or financial consultant, she’ll discern the truth about your business and compel audiences to action and loyalty.
Shannon has spent over 15 years helping businesses, small to corporate, connect with consumers. KickCharge® Creative clients find Shannon to be attentive, relatable, and eager to help. She’s also a ninja-quick study, since she researches and writes about dozens of industries in a given month.
A bit of the buzz in Shannon’s head:
“Most marketing copy is loaded with fluff and filler that says a lot—without really ‘saying’ anything. That type of writing has become a commodity. Conversely, good writing reflects your brand’s personality, articulates your mission, and achieves your objectives. Does your content differentiate you, or is it just taking up space?”
Shannon holds a BS in Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and an MS in Communication from the University of New Mexico. “My education kick-started my writing career, but there’s no substitute for experience when it comes to defining brand voice or writing across media platforms.”
Shannon is a Colorado native who prefers mountains to beaches. It’s a heck of a commute to NJ, but Denver is home. “I’m happiest when I’m outdoors with my family, hiking through the woods or sitting by a campfire. Thankfully, the wonder of Wi-Fi makes it easy to connect with clients and NJ coworkers, all from the comfort of my home office and yoga pants.”
Shannon is a part-time Pilates and fitness instructor. “Fitness is a great complement to my writing. Movement, adrenaline and a change of focus help me recharge when I need a mental break.”
“Think twice before writing your own website and marketing copy ‘to save money.’ It’s a better investment to remain focused on what you do best—and entrust a writing specialist with your brand and image. Professional writing gives you a proven competitive advantage.”
