I was born in 1988, so I grew up in the ’90s, which was the perfect intersection of a time when kids still played outside but video games and computers started blowing up. It was the first time in history that kids were lucky enough to have a channel where cartoons were on all day and toy commercials ruled the roost. The colorful, loud and immersive energy of these ads helped form my personality. This translated into a lifelong love for marketing and advertising. My siblings often tease me that I am more captivated by commercials than the actual show. Oftentimes, it’s true. Ha ha! I love a perfectly constructed ad that is equal parts intrigue, comedy and attention-grabber from the start. There’s something special about a commercial that can be interesting and humorous—even after the 100th time you’ve seen it. At a young age, I wanted to be a cartoonist … until I realized I couldn’t draw. Lol! So, in high school, I found my passion for graphic design and web design, which I pursued after graduation. I, eventually earned a certificate in Graphic Design & Animation from Anthem Institute. After a few years of not being able to find steady work within that field, I decided to go back to school for my business/marketing degree.
After graduating from Montclair State University, I found a job in the field of promotional advertising (aka branded products), where I got to work with companies such as Nike, Spotify, HBO, ESPN and Victoria’s Secret. It was a great experience being able to procure promotional products with these company’s logos that would be used for different marketing rollouts for internal and external clients.
